Public works in Wells consists of installing, maintaining and inspecting the water and sewer lines for 220 residents, one deep well (153'), one sewer lift station, one waste water collection system (lagoon) and one long dike above south Wells on Lowhee Creek.

The public works department also maintains Fred Wells Memorial Park on Sanders Avenue, local street signs, the Municipal Office at 4243 Sanders and the Community Hall.

Planning and Development and animal control are also part of Public Works. Street maintenance, snow removal and garbage collection are contracted out.

The District of Wells is currently examining solutions to improve the water quality within the municipality. As part of this process a public meeting was held on April 17, 2008. Click here for a pdf copy of the presentation.
